Wedding Photography
Wedding photography is most commonly entrusted to one or two professional photographers who have all the
equipment necessary to capture the most important moments of the event. However, what happens when you organize a
wedding on a low budget, and you ask one of your friends to take care of wedding photography? This could be a
really challenging task for anybody. Here are some ideas to optimize wedding photography even when you take the
photos at an amateurish levels.
Wedding photography should focus on the most important shots. This means that prior to the ceremony and the
party, you should discuss with the couple about what they want you to capture. Ask the couple to provide a shot
list so that you don't miss anything!
Wedding photography is so much easier when you have a family photo coordinator. The photographer can be easily
misled in the middle the festive spirit particularly when he/she does not know the family dynamics. The photo
shooting session with the family could turn into a chaos and a nightmare if you don't have someone to keep things
under control. That person will be the director for the family shoot.
Lots of aspects can be clarified for wedding photography if the photographer visits the locations for the
ceremony and the party before the big day. This allows one to decide on some positions for the shots, particularly
when you know beforehand how light can influence the quality of the photos. Shot tests can be taken together with
the couple: these could easily turn into engagement photos. At this stage the couple can also tell whether their
wedding photography hopes will come true or not.
So that nothing goes wrong with wedding photography, make sure you have enough blank memory cards, batteries
fully charged and you know how to get on time to the various locations. This is part of the preparations for the
wedding photography, and some people consider this a must-have stage. The photographer should preferably attend the
rehearsal of the ceremony so that he/she has a clear idea about what is going to happen the next day.
Wedding photography can be so much more successful when you use two cameras instead of one. This will require
that two people cover the wedding photography part, using different shooting angles, different locations and
preferably different lenses. Don't forget to photograph the details as well: the rings, the invitations, the table
settings, the flowers and even the menus. Such 'trifles' will give an extra flavor to the album, making excellent
extensions.
